    Lohagad Fort makes a great getaway during monsoon, because the top of the fort is usually covered with clouds and mist due to the rains. You’re met with pleasant and scenic view of a nearby Visapur Fort, Bhaja Caves and Pavana reservoir. The way leading upto the fort is quite slippery and covered with wet moss during this season, so taking necessary precautions is advised.

    Harishchandragad is situated in the Malshej region of the Western Ghats and it is one of the most famous hill forts located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, this quaint sleepy region is well known for it’s scenic beauty and alluring charm!     They say if you want to explore how the jungle looks like then you have to come for Vasota trek which goes through the dense forest roots towards Vasota fort. Bamnoli is the base village of Vasota trek. The area comes under “Sahyadri Tiger Reserve”. It is surrounded by thick forest and Koyana backwater which makes ideal trek for trekkers and nature lovers. Shivaji Maharaj named the fort “Vyaghragad” (Vyaghra – means tiger), owing to its difficult natural defense.

  5. Jeevdhan:
    Jeevdhan fort which is located in the Junnar Taluka of Pune District and finds itself situated at the edge of western ghats. A fort that transcends from moderate to difficult as one keeps moving closer to the fort. The skills of mountaineers come handy when one reaches on the top of it just to inhale the valor stories of glorius past.
    Jeevdhan fort is one of the 5 forts ( Chavand, Hadsar, Nimgiri & Shivneri – protectors of ancient trade route Naneghat) which finds its place in the must todo list of every trekker. The pinncale of Wanarlingi is attached to the fort. The entrances have been built in such a way that every entrance has Kalash and Lord Ganesh on it. It finds its origin linked to Satavahan. This wonderful and well planned fort was later captured and destroyed by British including all the approaches. The Advantageous open field spread for 2-3 kms helped to identify the enemies invasions etc. The major attractions at Jeevdhan fort are: The Kalyan gate, handful of water cisterns and the rock cut godown.
